Renowned crypto advocate John E. Deaton has recently come out in support of Bitcoin. In a recent interview conducted by well-known entrepreneur Anthony Scaramucci, Deaton expressed his reaction to US Senator Elizabeth Warren’s anti-crypto stance. Taking to his official X account, Deaton discussed this topic in a recent podcast.
During the podcast, @Scaramucci asked Deaton about the first word that comes to mind when he hears Bitcoin. Deaton’s response was “freedom.” He explained that the concept of freedom has been central to his entire life, particularly the idea of self-determination. He cited his upbringing in America and his service in the Marine Corps as examples of the importance of freedom.
Deaton emphasized that everyone in America should have the opportunity to shape their own future. He contrasted this belief with Senator Warren’s viewpoint, condemning her support for what he called the “Nanny State.” He criticized the idea of elites dictating the lives of others, and he argued that individuals like Warren believe they know what is best for everyone.
Deaton also addressed Warren’s labeling of Bitcoin as a terrible investment. He argued that her current stance against Bitcoin reflects a misguided approach. Warren advocates for strict regulations in order to protect people from potential financial risks, but Deaton believes that such protection comes at the cost of personal freedom.
