Supra to Make Debut at DSN 2024 with New Consensus Mechanism ‘Moonshot’
The Supra team is preparing to present the official whitepaper for Moonshot, providing a comprehensive overview of the consensus mechanism. They will showcase how Moonshot sets unique standards within the blockchain industry, comparing its significant spikes in throughput. Additionally, they will highlight Moonshot’s reduced latency compared to Jolteon, a highly efficient and fast consensus algorithm in the decentralized realm. Supra is credited with developing top-tier price feeds and verifiable randomness services, with over eighty blockchain ecosystems leveraging these services.
Supra’s Distributed Oracle Agreement focuses on enhancing blockchain capabilities and integrating real-world data. It addresses issues related to Byzantine faults and data integrity in smart contracts, catering to both off-chain and on-chain scenarios like perpetual and spot DEXs, payment protocols, and lending protocols. The innovative consensus mechanism of Supra provides robust security and rapid performance, as demonstrated during its global testing phase, processing up to 530K transfers per second across 125 nodes.
The consensus mechanism boasts an impressive finality of around 500 milliseconds, with complete block finality between 1.5 and 2 seconds, surpassing many competing mechanisms. The University of Queensland is set to host DSN 2024 at its campus in Brisbane, Australia.
