In an unexpected twist, the cryptocurrency landscape is witnessing an explosive rise in two newly introduced memecoins: $Terminus and $TERMINUS. According to the well-known on-chain analytics platform Lookonchain, $TERMINUS has skyrocketed by 1000x, while $Terminus has surged by 500x in just three days. The analytics platform shared these remarkable developments through its official social media channels.
$TERMINUS (@TERMINUS_CTO) has experienced an astonishing 1000x increase within three days, bringing its market capitalization to $42 million. Meanwhile, $Terminus has also made impressive gains, soaring by 500x with a market cap now standing at $7.2 million. Both tokens are playing a pivotal role in the broader surge of the meme-coin market, where social media hype and viral trends propel dramatic price fluctuations. Notably, the ongoing debate over upper versus lower case in their names adds an intriguing layer to the situation—$Terminus and $TERMINUS are distinct entities despite their similar names.
A Savvy Trader Capitalizes on Both Tokens, Raking in $151.8K and $837K in Profits
This frenzy has created a buzz within the crypto community, with traders navigating the complexities surrounding these similarly named coins that have vastly different price movements. One such trader, operating under the name “yamster.eth,” has successfully capitalized on this volatility. Lookonchain reported that this trader secured a profit of $151.8K from $Terminus, achieving an impressive 306x return. In addition, yamster.eth made a staggering profit of approximately $837K from $TERMINUS, translating to a 355x return.
In a recent strategic move, just three hours ago, yamster.eth traded 6.4 billion $Terminus tokens for about 31.22 $ETH (valued at $82.6K), aiming to provide liquidity for $TERMINUS. Even after this transaction, the trader still possesses 2 million tokens, valued at around $836K. Despite cashing out a portion of their holdings, yamster.eth retains a substantial stash of 4 billion $Terminus coins.
Earlier reports indicated that $TERMINUS had seen a staggering 10,000% increase over a span of 15 days, largely attributed to a viral post by prominent crypto influencer DogeDesigner. In that post, DogeDesigner speculated that Elon Musk might designate the first city on Mars as “Terminus,” igniting a wave of excitement that propelled the token’s price to unprecedented heights.
