zkSync, a layer 2 scaling solution that enhances the Ethereum blockchain through zk-rollup technology, has unveiled an exciting update. The platform has successfully deployed the v24 version on its mainnet, introducing exclusive features to enhance the experience for users and developers. Taking to its official X account, zkSync announced the latest development.
After a 24-hour suspension, zkSync has enabled deposits and withdrawals through its local bridge. During this period, the platform also allowed the use of 3rd-party bridges. Earlier this month, the company announced the completion of its review of the upgrade, paving the way for its deployment.
The new upgrade brings numerous improvements aimed at optimizing performance and enhancing the user experience. Notably, it includes enhancements to smart contract operations and security protocols, ensuring a reliable infrastructure to support decentralized applications built on zkSync. This unique update marks the transition of zkSync v24 from the testing phase to production.
In recent weeks, zkSync had previously announced delays in the deployment of the upgrade. Additionally, the platform had called on hardware teams to participate in the prover network of zkSync Era, a move expected to play a significant role in zk rollups’ operation.
zkSync emphasized that this operation will make it fully censorship-resistant. Furthermore, the company encouraged users to explore the exclusive ZK consumer dashboard, allowing them to monitor their current allocation amount and participate in ZkEVM Quests.
